Syria’s Christians are facing intense persecution as violence escalates. In recent attacks, hundreds of civilians, including women and children, were killed in the city of Latakia. “There is nowhere to escape to, and no one to defend us,” shared one survivor. The new government, loyal to the Islamic militant group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, has been hostile toward Syria’s Christian minority.

An anonymous believer stated, “They want to kill all of us. We have to flee. I am asking for protection and to live in dignity because we can be killed at any moment.” Father Bahjat Karakach of Aleppo’s Church of St. Francis of Assisi urges believers to pray: “We need it so much. Let us raise our prayers to the good Lord who knows how to work miracles.”

God has moved miraculously in Syria before. The apostle Paul had his dramatic conversion on the road to Damascus, and the Holy Spirit is still revealing Jesus today. A testimony from Uganda offers hope: Isa, a former Muslim, experienced healing through Christian radio, leading him to Christ. Though his family rejected him, he now pastors a growing church and reaches Muslims for Jesus.
